Totally agree... Islam is the right way... I used to be Christian and what you said was exactly why I started looking for the true religion as I believed god can never leave the world without a true religion, and believe me Islam DOES make allot of sense.. more…

Hope the government should have the policy of thinking before doing anything, nor to think after the things once done, as it is useless. All the economist of the country should work jointly to bring the recession under the control.

whatever possible questions you could ask would have already been asked when Paul started to receive "revelation's" from Jesus. They made many, many flawed answers/contradictions and pasted it together with illogical and without reasoning. You be a Christian and accept their philophy these days is to throw away reason and to spit in God's face b more…

But we are like the homeowners on the ad: 'look, here's my key hidden under the doormat - and here's the open window'.

That doesn't mean the burgler isn't still a burglar. It does mean that we can't expect the insurance people to be quite so lenient as they might be.

This of course, is what all the criminals want you to think. It is all someone else's fault - 'the system', 'you have to see the bigger picture'.

They should be held personally responsible, arrested, tried and punished. more…

I think the anger is more than we have to now sit up and take notice, instead of burying out heads in the sand and pretending that all is well. We know they are a bunch of greedy schemeing gits, but now we have to say so, and because WE are the ones who voted them in, and thereby tacitly agreed to them shafting us, we are foisting the blame back to more…

Mmmm, No it's not that Karen... The whole culture in place like Finland, Sweden etc about global warming, efficient heating methods to conserve energy is totally different and has been for decades. In the UK the culture is to sit on the fence until the s**t hits the fan and then start doing something about it. Some of the Scandinavian house designs more…

But Karen!! It's not snow we have to worry about for bringing things to a halt in the UK, It's leaves from trees on the railway lines!!! :)

I dislike that one as well, but I have to say "Guilty". I do try and not say it though. I have been trying to stop using supefluous or inappropriate words recently because I have found myself using them a lot. "Actually" is one of the one I use the most. more…

Glad it's not pissing you off, I find it fascinating too.

I wasn't meaning a misdiagnosis of depression, which is a different thing really, in the same way as a misdiagnosis of dyslexia in a child who could read and write fine would be different to questioning the applicability of the diagnosis to anyone.

No, not pissing me off at all. I find the whole thing fascinating. For me, discussions like this help me have insights into the minds of my children, because they work so differently to my own.

But what you've described is the point I'm making: things like coeliac and cancer have diagnostic signs which make them diseases: you see a lump on x-ray, you know the person has cancer; you do a biopsy (or whatever they do in coeliac) and you know the person has coeliac. There are physical findings there. With both mental illness and dyslexia, the more…

Perhaps it doesnt help, but there needs to be a name for the problem. As I said, my daughter has coeliac disease. Some coeliacs can't have even a single crumb of gluten without a huge adverse reaction. Some coeliacs didn't even know they had the condition. They are still coeliacs. Cancer is still cancer even in the single cell stage. more…

Haha, I like that 'medical type person' description! Just to clarify, I'm not saying that people don't have difficulties with reading (unrelated to intelligence), just as I'm not saying that people don't have emotional problems. What I'm saying is I'm not sure that giving these differing difficulties (dyslexia appears to be the same as depression i more…

My son has been diagnosed with dyslexia, and ltimately, it is something wrong with him. He isn't thick. In fact, in other areas of education, he excels. He just can't do things like differentiate between 'b' and 'd' and so on, can't tie his shoelaces, can't organise himself properly etc etc. I have dyscalculia.
